Coo-coo-ka-ju Mrs. Robinson

Published by natausha

Enter at your own risk!

I had a farm in Africa.  It was a dark and stormy night.  It was the best of times it was the worst of times.  OK. In the daunting task of thinking about an opening line I began to realize that I am late in the writing game and that most of the truly wonderful opening lines have been already written.  BAH!  Surely not all of the word combinations in the English language have been taken so I went back to bed.

There I hudled with cable blaring back at me (thinking “How did televisions get so big”).  The Graduate was on displaying the wonderfully sardonic glare of Mrs. Robinson (may she rest in peace).  At that moment I wondered if her derision was actually meant for ME!

I climbed out of bed and moved my person back in front of the computer.  For heaven’s sake!  I’m fifty…uh..er…(mumble-mumble) years old.  I’ve been around the block at least 42 times.  THIS should not do me in!

So, here I am.  In front of you.  Prepared to share my life with you.  Prepared to share my views of life as a baby boomer.  Prepared to share my past (names will be changed to protect the abominaly guilty and those who may not remember things quite the way that I do).

I’ve done many things, been many places, married many times.  It is my hope to entertain you with my perils, mistakes, and triumphs.  All with a giggle or two and perhaps a blush  to the faint of heart.

You are welcome to comment.  I am appreciative of feedback, it’s a good way to stay connected with the real world.  If you find me a bit insane, ludicrous, or avant guarde, well then, you will be in good company.  Several of my friends refer to me as Auntie Mame, and I HOPE they are refering to the Rosalind Russell Auntie Mame and not the Lucille Ball Auntie Mame (I found Lucille Ball a bit too whiny and weak in the part-although I can whine with the best of them when needed).  I’m a big-time film buff and with that comes opinion and criticism.

And now I am off for a bit.  I don’t know why.  I can, indeed, remember quite clearly things from 30 years ago, however, I am usually unable to remember what happened 10 minutes ago.  Now,  WHO are you people and what are you doing reading my blog!

Here’s to you, Mrs. Robinson.  I hope I do you proud.
